TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Exempt Position; 10 months; Full Time; 40hr/wk

 

SALARY: Teacher salary scale based on licensure and experience. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in job related field required; educator license required; or special education license required; CPI Trainer Certification, or willing to obtain it, required.

 

DUTIES:

Responsible for coaching general and special education teachers in providing classroom and behavior support for lower elementary (k-2) aged students who are behaviorally challenged;Employ a variety of resources to help educators improve their effectiveness; develops and implements strategies and structures for sustaining supportive and continuous professional growth; assists teachers in the identification and development of individualized instructional/behavioral interventions intended to change behavior; using evidence based strategies to change behavior; supports teachers in collecting required documentation for the tier process to include functional behavioral assessment, student progress, planning for and implementing behavior plans and data collection; collaborates with principals, teachers, special education staff to identify, plan and implement professional development activities and determine follow-up as needed; supports PBIS; assists teachers in the development of instructional materials, accommodations, modifications and assessments needed for special needs students who are educated in the general education classroom setting and in self- contained classrooms; participates in eligibility and IEP meetings as requested; facilitates transitions between self-contained and general education placements; attends all special education department meetings; maintains documents and data collection necessary for the behavioral support grant; additional duties as assigned by Superintendent and/or Director of Student Support Services.
